About the job:
The SAS Health Care Center (HCC) is looking for a Medical Technologist to join our team! Since 1984, the HCC has proudly delivered the highest quality healthcare, whether managing complex chronic conditions, treating acute illnesses or injuries, or administering routine immunizations. And because we are a family practice, we care for all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics. The Medical Technologist conducts and researches a variety of medical laboratory tests, including on-site testing and collection of specimens for transfer to other laboratories.
As a Medical Technologist, you will:
- Performs on-site laboratory tests using established departmental procedures and following recognized healthcare protocols.
- Performs veni-puncture and collects other specimens.
- Maintains laboratory information on all medical records, to include reconciling all reference reports in EHR, manual entry of laboratory data in EHR, and faxing lab reports.
- Performs chart audits as part of regular laboratory quality control program.
- Oversees laboratory tests and documentation, as needed.
- Keeps careful records of laboratory activities and quality control for monthly reports.
- Performs or assists in performing health screening tests.
- Assists the nursing staff in providing primary care to patients, as needed.
- Orders supplies and keeps records of all purchases for the laboratory.
- Maintains quality control and calibration of laboratory instruments.
- Assists with the planning and implementation of campus blood drives.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent. American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) certification required.
- Typically requires four years of experience in a primary and/or secondary health care setting performing a variety of lab tests. Medical office experience preferred.
- Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

- Excellent knowledge of all laboratory tests, such as phlebotomy, urinalysis, wet prep mounts and basic hematology
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have good communication skills
