HDR is hiring a Communications Assistant to support the Communications and Engagement Team on the Cascadia Program, a WSDOT megaprogram focused on improving mobility in the Cascadia Megaregion. This role will provide foundational support to the team responsible for external engagement.

In the role of Communications Assistant, we'll count on you to:

  • Provide a wide variety of specialized Program-related communications functions, including messaging support, meeting arrangements, travel coordination, calendaring, and meeting support such as typing and tracking meeting minutes.
  • Establish processes and protocols for communications and engagement on the Program.
  • Refine and improve internal communications and information flow.
  • Showcase proactive capabilities with a can-do attitude.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with public involvement, community relations, or event planning is a plus.
  • Experience working in both in-office and virtual environments with the ability to flex to varying communication styles.
  • Previous experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
  • Be in-person in Seattle at least three days a week.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
