Description

The wash-line Lead Operator (WLO) ensures the production targets of the wash-line are at standard. They will ensure that all autonomous maintenance of the wash-line is performed and provide support to the maintenance department during routine preventative maintenance functions. Responsible for ensuring the wash-line and area is always clean and tour ready. Responsible for the safety of the area and personnel. Shall write standard work instruction as needed. Provides assignments and directions to the employees working in the wash-line area. Keeps all lean, 5-S metrics and SWI’s up to date. And always supports the department’s code. SAFETY, QUALITY, PRODUCTION in this order.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties as assigned.)

· Runs the wash-line machine.

· Able to do all functions of the wash-line, which include but are not limited to: Startup / Shut down. Hourly cleaning of the wash-line sump pump pit, loading, weighing finished bags, labeling, and staging of product.

· Will keep the required level of daily housekeeping at a tour ready condition. Weekly deep cleaning of the wash-line exterior, wash tank paddles and spray nozzles.

· Training new employees and following all safety rules and guidelines. 

· Ensuring all pre-inspection and cleaning procedures are followed.

· Will write maintenance service request for the wash-line as needed.

· Will conduct training in all procedures and new processes and assist other team members to be effective in their assignments.

· Performs autonomous, preventive & corrective maintenance.

· Will follow the dress code apparel, PPE and safety requirements.

· Perform other duties as assigned or required.

· Reports all technical problems to the Material Logistics Supervisor.

· Practice and maintain the highest safety, quality, and production standards.

· Collaborate with the engineers working on products and process improvement.

· Manages and controls inventory parts for the wash line.

· Fill out daily production log.

· Manage and maintain the scrap lanes area.

· Coordinate what materials are to be processed and direct task in the wash-line area with the swing and graveyard shift wash line operators during shift pass down.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

HS diploma or equivalent 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in English.

SKILLS

Basic math skills 

Effective communication skills (oral and written)

Basic computer literacy
