Summary/Objective
Produce parts by operating a various machine for new, special, regular, or experimental jobs.

• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Operate various machines within the cell
• Makes minor adjustment as necessary or notify Lead person or Setup person if a more significant adjustment is required
• Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
• Performs preventative maintenance including lubricating machines when needed
• Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.
• Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of parts
• Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances
• Follows schedules and procedures
• Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
• Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
• Assists other operators if necessary
• Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions.
• Responsible for quality of own work
• Forklift (i.e. powered industrial truck) operation.
• All other duties as assigned
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and seldom lifting to 50lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed work boots or shoes.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position at 40+ hours per week. Days and hours of work will be determined by the location. Eight (8) hour shifts are Monday through Friday and ten (10) hour shifts are Monday through Thursday. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands.
Required Education and Experience
• High School Diploma/GED.
• 10+ yrs experience setting up and running cold heading machines.
• Some computer literacy required.
• Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc.
• Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)
• Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to withstand stress that may accompany deadlines, or work on complicated problems for extended periods of time.
