What’s This Job About?
We are seeking a Managing Investigator to join our Disputes practice. This critical role has two components: individual contributor and case manager. You will manage and execute investigations supporting litigation, arbitration, and regulatory inquiries, while also conducting sophisticated research on complex or high-profile matters. You will synthesize complex information into client ready deliverables that carry evidentiary value and collaborate with practice leaders to shape dispute resolution strategies.
What are Your Key Responsibilities?
Conduct Complex Investigations:
- Manage and execute investigations for litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters.
- Lead public records and open source research to build chronologies, trace assets, and uncover key facts.
- Direct the review of financial, regulatory, and corporate records to identify risks, hidden assets, or misconduct.
- Draft and review investigative reports for legal proceedings with clarity, accuracy, and evidentiary rigor.
Enhance Expertise and Mentor Junior Team Members:
- Mentor junior investigators on disputes casework, including public records analysis, report writing, and legal relevance.
- Share best practices across the team to elevate investigative rigor and outcomes.
Optimize and Innovate Investigative Practices:
- Introduce and refine tools and methodologies tailored to disputes, such as evidence synthesis and chronology building.
- Ensure adherence to the highest professional, ethical, and legal standards while improving quality and efficiency.
Uphold Quality and Precision in Deliverables:
- Own case quality control from scoping through delivery.
- Manage multiple disputes matters simultaneously, communicate proactively with clients, and ensure client ready work that meets case objectives and deadlines.
- Oversee budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize execution.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Experience: 4 to 7 years of disputes or investigative experience in professional services, risk advisory, or litigation support, with client facing exposure preferred.
- Research Expertise: Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, public records, and open source research to support litigation and arbitration.
- Writing Skills: Demonstrated ability to produce polished investigative reports suitable for client and court submission.
- Attention to Detail: Deliver high quality, accurate work that requires minimal edits and maintains evidentiary integrity.
- Analytical Thinking: Apply strong judgment to identify risks, patterns, and relevant evidence across complex data.
- Tech Savvy: Familiarity with investigative databases and forensic tools and the ability to adopt new platforms quickly.
- Global Perspective: Multilingual abilities such as Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, or Portuguese are a plus.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Adaptability: Manage shifting priorities and high-pressure disputes matters while balancing multiple deadlines.
