Position Overview 

The Dewberry Hotel is seeking an experienced and motivated Spa Front Desk Supervisor to lead our spa front desk team with professionalism, poise, and a genuine passion for hospitality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to foster a culture of excellence in guest service and team performance. 

As a key member of our luxury spa, the Spa Front Desk Supervisor ensures seamless daily operations, drives sales performance, and upholds the serene and sophisticated environment that defines Southern Reimagined at The Dewberry. This individual will also serve as the acting leader in the absence of the Spa Manager, overseeing daily operations, guest opportunities, team coverage, and service execution to maintain flawless standards. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring service excellence, team efficiency, and a consistent luxury guest experience.
  • Act as the primary leader in the absence of the Spa Manager, managing team schedules, resolving guest concerns, ensuring adequate coverage, and maintaining operational flow.
  • Coordinate guest appointments, check-ins, check-outs, and product sales with accuracy and grace.
  • Maintain open communication with therapists, estheticians, and leadership to ensure smooth service flow and timely execution.
  • Drive retail and service sales through thoughtful guest engagement, product knowledge, and upselling opportunities.
  • Addressing guest concerns and service recovery needs promptly, maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • Ensure all spa areas—including locker rooms, treatment rooms, and relaxation spaces—are immaculate and fully stocked.
  • Manage inventory, assist with product ordering, and oversee merchandising displays.
  • Monitors all professional product inventories, linen usage, service protocols, MSDS sheets, and offers retail and professional product recommendations. 
  • Ensures all aspects of the spa menu and any spa specials are accurately portrayed within the spa. 
  • Exhibit a professional attitude, diplomacy, and possess the ability to effectively handle difficult situations. 
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all services and products provided by The Dewberry Spa.
  • Proactively maintain cleanliness standards in all areas of the Spa. 
  • Professionally take and confirm reservations for all services and treatments offered at The Dewberry Spa. 
  • Perform special projects delegated by Spa Management.  

Team & Training 

  • Participate in team meetings, leadership training, and departmental initiatives.
  • Lead and support the spa front desk team to deliver a five-star guest experience from arrival to departure.
  • Train, mentor, and coach front desk teammates to uphold The Dewberry’s service and presentation standards.

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in luxury hospitality, spa, or wellness environments.
  • Minimum 1-2 year of sales experience, with proven success meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
  • Minimum 1-2 year of experience in hospitality or a related customer service field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of presentation and guest service.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, consistent with The Dewberry brand.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • This position will be required to operate or work with the following:
  • Computer, calculators, office supplies, phone, paperwork, protocol binders, retail inventory, all spa equipment, hot cabbies, paraffin heaters, steamers, microcurrent machines, fitness equipment, and treatment products. 
  • Work conditions include exposure to noise, vibrations, extreme temperatures, wet or humid environments, burns, fumes, odors, dust, mist, mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
  • Proficient in computer systems and software, including POS, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. 
  • CPR/First Aid Certified preferred. 
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly to move objects.

Work Environment 

  • Based on-site at The Dewberry in Charleston, SC.
  • Typical schedule requires flexibility for daytime, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
