The Solution Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing complex IT solutions throughout their lifecycle—from ideation and planning to execution, operation, and decommission. One area of focus is to empower clerks, local unit technology specialists, and facilities managers across the globe through innovative technology offerings, training, and support. This role will also be responsible for the solutions that enable local unit virtual meetings. The breadth of these solutions will continue to expand based upon opportunity and need. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of both the technological landscape and the broader needs of the business. This individual must be able to align technical solutions with business needs and organizational goals ensuring that technology serves as a strategic enabler.
This position has stewardship for approving solution architecture and managing the financial, security, technical, and human resources required to support end-to-end ownership of IT solutions. The Solution Manager provides strategic vision and guidance to stakeholders, demonstrating how technology can enhance productivity, address complex business challenges, and further the mission of the Church.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains trusted partner relationships:
- Identifies partner stakeholders at all levels, meets with them on a regular basis, and becomes part of their senior management team/director's council.
- Influences partners by understanding and acting upon their needs.
- Identifies general and domain-specific technology trends and develops strategies to leverage technology for partner's benefit.
- Prepares, regularly reports on, and forecasts multiple business investments
- Promotes and supports portfolio, division, and department strategies and goals.
- Articulates portfolio vision and roadmap:
- Translates business vision in terms that can be easily understood and communicates that vision to all stakeholders.
- Sets and achieves solution/initiative goals and project milestones that support vision and align with division and department goals.
- Executes portfolio and project plans. Develops proposed budgets with business justifications, time frame, and impact. Manages approved budgets.
- Oversees product full lifecycle—ideation, planning, execution, collecting requirements and operational decommission
- Ensures the success of multiple, broad, and complex products/solutions
- Typically approves complex and large budgets
- Demonstrates leadership and creates a high performing workforce. Utilizes the Leadership Pattern in all aspects of the role
- Reviews staffing needs and resource allocations with supported portfolios on a regular basis and addresses issues proactively
- Manages multiple solutions of large scale
- Supports various, critical customers with different needs
- Successfully and accurately completes cost analysis, budgeting, performance management and metrics
- Forecasts budgets
- The employee must regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce)
- The employee is authorized, in partnership with HR, to hire or fire employees and recommends advancement, promotion or any other change of status of employees within their reporting line
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of progressive experience managing IT engineering solutions or engineering professionals including three years of people management responsibility within a technology organization
- Proven ability to manage broad and complex solutions with large budgets
- Must have strong experience building and maintaining executive-level client and vendor relationships
- Must understand business needs are preeminent, facilitated by technology
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong technology background
- Demonstrated expertise at establishing vision and can translate that vision into business solutions
- Demonstrated success building, deploying and operating enterprise-class solutions
- Ability to manage full life cycle solution delivery
- Strong IT product and demonstrated operational experience, including managing a complex budget, resource management and metrics
- Able to deliver results in an environment of competing priorities and changing project scope.
- Experience with cost analysis, budgeting, performance management and metrics
- This job operates in a professional office environment
