The City of Peoria is searching for an energetic, self-driven person to join the City Clerk’s Office. This position will have direct contact with City staff across all departments and divisions, as well as elected officials and the management team. The purpose of this position is to manage the membership of the City’s 19 Boards and Commissions, the Council Boards and Commission Subcommittee process, and provide administrative support for City Elections.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Tracks vacancies, applications, and appointments for Board and Commission members.
  • Prepares Council Subcommittee agendas, packets, and minutes.
  • Organizes the annual Board and Commission Appreciation Event.
  • Maintains election materials in conjunction with legislative changes.

The position will utilize communication skills to provide excellent customer service support to the residents of the City of Peoria.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Experience managing boards and commissions, including appointments, terms, and vacancies.
  • Experience preparing meeting agendas, packets, and minutes, and coordinating with elected officials and executive leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with candidates, board and commission members, and the public.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply city codes, charters, and state statutes.
