Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Product Design & Development Lead to play a pivotal role in driving the introduction of innovative products to the market. In this hands-on role, you will be deeply involved in every stage of the product development process, from concept to production. Your responsibilities will include shaping the product vision, leading the overall design and development process, and taking ownership of product builds. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product managers, marketing, R&D, operations, and finance, to ensure that new products not only meet customer expectations but are also delivered on time.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the full product development cycle- from initial concept and strategy through commercialization.
  • Translate consumer insights, competitive analysis, and user-centered design principles into innovative, market-ready product solutions.
  • Ensure products meet key performance criteria including visual design, functionality, cost, manufacturability, compliance requirements and the development timeline.
  • Create design sketches, CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and comprehensive product specifications. 
  • Develop and evaluate prototypes to refine structure, function and packaging.
  • Help shape and evolve the long-term product roadmap while staying agile in responding to short-term market trends and consumer demands.
  • Ensure products meet all relevant regulatory and compliance standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Engineering or related field is required.
  • 7+ years of experience in product development with preferred focus on furniture design, household durables, or consumer goods.
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator required).
  • Strong background in Design for Manufacturability
  • Strong understanding of aesthetics, form, proportions, and CMF (Color, Material, Finish).
  • Excellent visual communication and concepting skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to cross-functional teams at all levels within the company as well as to customers.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and reliable follow-through
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Requires onsite work two weeks per month at our Aston, PA location.
