In this role, you will contribute to initiatives that continuously improve engineering efficiency and effectiveness, working on tools, processes, services, and methods that enable engineers to plan, build, test, and release high-quality hardware solutions. This is a unique opportunity to gain insight into large-scale transformation programs and play an active role in shaping the future of engineering at HARMAN.You will be part of the HW Engineering Excellence team, reporting directly to Raul Bartolome, Director of HW Engineering Excellence. The team drives innovation and transformation across Harman Automotive, engaging with hundreds of stakeholders globally. We foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing, ensuring our engineers have the right tools, methods, and frameworks to succeedWhat You Will DoAs a Working Student, your responsibilities will include:Supporting the HW+ Effectivity Program (2024–2030 roadmap), including scoping, requirements, gap analysis, steering, and cross-functional alignment.Assisting in program modelling, KPI tracking, and defining future states of HW+ development.Contributing to key initiatives, such as:Knowledge Management System for lessons learned and best practices.Design FMEA Workstreams: methodology governance, tool development, and library maintenance.HW+ Components Workstreams: driving adoption of preferred and multi-source components, and supporting should-cost analysis.HW+ Engineering Community: supporting global knowledge-sharing activities, Q&A, surveys, and innovation exchanges.Shift-left Development: mapping existing tools/methods, evaluating marketplace tools, and helping define future solutions for faster, error-free development.What You Need to Be SuccessfulEnrolled student (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.Good communication skills in English (both written and spoken).Basic understanding of electrical and electronic development and automotive electronic products.Proficiency with office tools (Excel, MS Office, MS Teams).Strong analytical skills, structured way of working, and eagerness to learn.Ability to collaborate effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.What Makes You EligibleHybrid work model required: Minimum 2–3 days per week on-site at our office in Garching, Germany.What We OfferWork on real-world challenges in a high-impact innovation environment.Gain hands-on experience with advanced technologies and methodologies.Flexible working time.Training on the job from experts, and access to learning materials.
