Job Description Title: Campus & Facilities Manager

Position Summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Technical training or certification in building maintenance or facilities management preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or custodial operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

• Strong leadership, organizational, and supervisory abilities.
• Technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural maintenance.
• Proven ability to plan, budget, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in using computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other scheduling software.

Essential Functions

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Custodial Department, maintenance staff, and external contractors.
• Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations for custodial and maintenance personnel.
• Schedule and assign daily work tasks, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and quality results.
• Foster a team-oriented work environment focused on safety, communication, and continuous improvement.

• Oversee all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and facilities.
• Ensure that all facilities are in compliance with safety codes, regulations, and district policies.
• Monitor work orders and respond to maintenance requests promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.

• Supervise custodial staff to ensure all buildings and grounds are kept clean, safe, and presentable.
• Establish and maintain cleaning schedules and standards for classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Monitor inventory and usage of custodial supplies and equipment.
• Implement quality assurance checks and corrective actions as needed.

• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate and maintain safety programs, including emergency preparedness, fire safety, and hazard communication.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of safety inspections and compliance reports.

• Assist with the development and management of the annual facilities and custodial budgets.
• Oversee contracted services such as landscaping, snow removal, and specialized repairs.
• Manage campus improvement and capital projects from planning to completion.

• Coordinate with staff to support events, including setup, teardown, and logistics.
• Ensure that facilities are prepared and operational for daily activities and special events.

Environmental and Physical Conditions

• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes under extreme temperatures or weather conditions.
• Regular exposure to noise, chemicals, and moving equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing ladders.

Terms of Employment

• 12-month position.
• Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Expected Salary range: $60,000 - $90,000
