POSITION SUMMARY
The Casting Team Lead position provides the direction and leadership necessary to effectively coordinate employee activity at Madison-Kipp Corporation. This position plans, organizes, and directs work activities and resources necessary to optimizing production efficiency in accordance with Madison-Kipp’s safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Direct production resources (workforce and related supplies).
- Achieve production deadlines as well as plant and department safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, and efficiency KPI's.
- Operate production equipment, perform equipment changeovers, complete PM tasks, etc.
- Train and develop employees.
- Track and understand production achievement. Resolve issues as needed.
- Foster communication channels to elicit and address employee suggestions and concerns.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to noise, excessive heat and cold, dirt, grease, smoke, dust, and molten metal. Working aloft, bending, and awkward positions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical exertion required with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities, which include instructing, training, monitoring, and coaching.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of high pressure die casting equipment and processes.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, a strong sense of urgency, unquestioned ethics, and the ability to hold others accountable while maintaining good working relationships within and across departments.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
