Job Summary:
Bayside Café is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join our culinary team. Located along the beautiful Choctawhatchee Bay, Bayside Café offers a casual, open-air dining experience. The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced outdoor environment while ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and consistency. The ideal candidate has a passion for cooking, teamwork, and delivering a memorable dining experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
• Ensure all food is presented properly and served in a timely manner
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow all food safety and sanitation policies and procedures
• Assist with prep work, stocking, and cleaning before, during, and after service
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen station
• Communicate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff
• Work in a high-volume, outdoor kitchen environment
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
• Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen leadership

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in a cook or line cook position preferred
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and team-focused attitude
• Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Food Handler Certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours)
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, and occasional rain
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand motions
• Ability to work near hot equipment (grills, fryers, ovens) and handle sharp utensils
• Must be able to work in a physically active environment with long periods of motion and exertion
