We are currently seeking a Collections Manager to join Kirtland Credit Union!

This is what we would like you to do:
Responsible for managing operations and employees of the Account Resolution Department. Oversee all internal collections functions including the handling of loan and credit accounts that are late, potentially delinquent, or delinquent, as well as share accounts which are overdrawn or charged off. Ensures loss mitigation programs for investor-held mortgages are offered and implemented per applicable guidance. Assists in the resolution of difficult and complex member account situations. Directs repossessions and the disposition of repossessed Credit Union assets including autos and real estate. Performs periodic evaluation of collections policies and procedures and modify as needed. Ensures that established policies, procedures, and legal requirements are followed. Trains, directs, and appraises team members. Supports the strategic objectives of the credit union and ensures that services are delivered professionally and efficiently.
These are what your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of Account Resolution Department policies, procedures, and planning.
- Assumes responsibility for the effective and efficient administration and performance of collections and account resolutions functions, ensuring optimal performance.
- Effectively sets expectations and goals and provides ongoing performance management with team members. Coaches and mentors to ensure optimal performance.
- Develops familiarity with Credit Union’s collections system and other systems/applications which house and/or report on Credit Union loans, as well as how data is transmitted across such systems. Use system knowledge to help train staff and to support and participate in system upgrades and optimization efforts.
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring that professional business relationships are established and maintained with Credit Union employees, members, the community, and with trade and governmental organizations.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Can you to bring to the table:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in business and finance, preferred.
Required Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of collections, servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy procedures, and legal requirements.
- Understanding of Credit Union lending programs, policies, and default enforcement clauses.
- Minimum years of progressive collections experience including consumer loans, mortgages, home equity loans, unsecured loans, and credit cards, preferred.
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience, preferred.
