The Opportunity:

The Sanitization Lead is responsible for dismantling and cleaning MFG and Packaging equipment. Including: (removing hoppers, covers, lids, screens, port valves, side covers where applicable, dusters, polisher assemblies, scoops, plastic buckets, plastic drums, material handling containers). In addition, but not limited to, guiding the sanitation team in minor and major cleans, assisting with environmental and data logger monitoring, ensuring MSS is completed at the frequency given, and assisting production on gummy lines when sanitation duties are not being performed. Also, supports cleaning and sanitizing processing walls, lift covers, air vents, floors, strip doors, etc. The Sanitation Lead will only use approved chemicals and will follow safety guidelines. All Lock Out/Tag Out procedures must be followed. The Sanitation Lead reports to the Supervisor and receives direction, training, scheduling and other sanitation issues to meet company cGMP’s and cleaning SOP’s.


What You’ll Do:


  • Disassemble, clean, sanitize, processing equipment such as kettles, CFA's, cooling, tunnels, incline conveyors, z elevators, bottling and packaging equipment, scoops, and all other machines, components and parts as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor.
  • Cleans and sanitizes production room walls, ceilings, light fixtures, air vents, strip doors, floors and other production accessories as required.
  • Maintains all process/cleaning and log books assuring all steps of the manufacturing cleaning directions are followed by MeriCal's SOPs and cGMPs.
  • Measure. mix, cleaning and sanitizing solutions as per instructions by the Sanitation Supervisor.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English to write routine reports and necessary correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understandings to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and work in tight constricted places in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must be able to stand for 10 hours and able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Respond to data logger deviations.
  • Assist in collecting environmental programs samples.
  • Assis in waste pick up.
  • Assist in production on gummy lines when Major/Minor cleans and MSS tasks are not being performed.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous Lead experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in sanitation.
  • 2 years working in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity with production environment pr packaging experience is a plus.
  • Familia with GMPs.
  • Experience working with chemicals and knowledge of usage.

 A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $24.00 to $28.00. The compensation offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and/or education.
