Marketing Consultant (Account Executive)

The Role of a Marketing Consultant:

As a Marketing Consultant, you’ll be responsible for developing long-term partnerships with area businesses, creating customized marketing solutions that leverage ESPN Cleveland’s strong local brand, audio, digital content, and event assets. You’ll play a vital role in helping our partners achieve their business goals while strengthening ESPN Cleveland’s presence in the community.

Daily Tasks of a Marketing Consultant:

  • Develop relationships with local businesses and decision-makers   
  • Identify, uncover, and cultivate new business opportunities through prospecting, cold-calling, networking, and other business development strategies
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the complete portfolio of ESPN Cleveland’s assets and create successful, customized marketing solutions 
  • Continually educate yourself on media and new trends in the industry
  • Log all prospecting and partnership activity daily in Salesforce
  • Collaborate with sales support team to effectively manage partnerships
  • Manage and support partner collections by maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and timely follow-through 
  • Attend and participate in ESPN Cleveland events
  • Represent ESPN Cleveland at community events and networking opportunities.
  • Network with local businesses to expand your sphere of influence in the market 
  • Ability to uncover marketing objectives and create solutions to solve those objectives 
  • Leverage AI tools and insights to enhance prospect research, streamline communications, enhance strategic thinking and develop smarter, data-driven marketing strategies
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels including C-Level positions 
  • Be a GKB ambassador by adhering to the GKB core values: Be Honest, Work Hard, Over Deliver, Listen, Follow Through and Teamwork  

Preferred knowledge,skills,and qualifications:

  • A passion for connecting with people and telling stories that drive business results
  • Familiarity in CRM tool such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office; Word, PowerPoint, Excel 
  • Personal sense of responsibility and accountability 
  • Passion to be a part of a team and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills  
  • Excellent written and verbal skills   
  • With this career, you are required to hold a valid driver’s license  

Hours/Salary/Benefits:

This is an exempt role with a competitive base salary. This role is eligible for full benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, Life Insurance, STD, LTD, 401(k) Plan, Dependent Care, paid parental leave, and more with opportunities for salary growth increase with skills and responsibilities and meeting targeted goals. The position will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
