Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing payroll for both hourly and salary employees, maintaining payroll reports and records and addressing employee inquires on payroll- related matters working with and through the human resources group   for the Louisville, KY location.

 

-Day Shift On-Site Position but must allow flexibility for payroll closing

-This Function reports to: Payroll Manager dotted line to Local HRBP

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing and recording of time and pay for payroll which includes 300+ employees in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines
  • Responsible for data completeness in the timekeeping system and for data being properly interfaced into the payroll system
  • Compile, balance, and ensure compliance requirements are met for additional earnings submissions, time corrections, and rate overrides submitted and validate results in the payroll system
  • Review payroll reports to confirm data is balanced with timekeeping and department/base submission reports to ensure accuracy and identify any out-of- balance conditions needing correction
  • Provide support for external and internal audits related to pay items
  • Support payroll projects, process improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned
  • Manages work attendance monitoring system (absence & sickness, overtime, vacations, etc.) and related salary calculations.
  • Calculate and submits payroll overrides related to approved and unapproved leave of absence
  • Cooperates with HR and finance to ensure proper accounting of payroll costs and fulfillment of tax and social security obligations

About You:

-Associates degree along with previous experience in a similar role preferred, or 3+ years of relevant experience required

-Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail

-Strong math aptitude, Excel skills, and problem-solving skills

-Previous experience with large payroll system; UKG, KRONOS and SAP a plus

-Ability to manage conflicting priorities and workload pressure of strict deadlines

-Must be able to meet critical deadlines and adapt to circumstances beyond control

-Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
