As the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for our Hematology & Oncology Unit, you’ll provide both clinical and administrative leadership—supporting your team through mentorship, scheduling, performance evaluations, and daily touchpoints. You’ll also play a vital role in unit operations, including hand hygiene and barcode audits, and partnering with the Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR) to ensure effective patient flow and that all patients are in their assigned beds by midnight.

 

This 30-bed unit includes 11 dedicated transplant beds and serves a complex and compassionate patient population. The team proudly scored in the 96th percentile for team member experience, reflecting a strong culture of collaboration, diversity, and longevity, where nurses truly practice at the top of their licensure.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • 1–2 years of oncology or bone marrow transplant experience

  • Acute care or intermediate experience preferred

  • ONS certification (preferred; required within 6 months of hire)

  • Passion for process improvement, strategy, and HAI prevention

  • Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills

Qualifications:
  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. BSN preferred. Graduate Degree, preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience, preferred.
    • Prior demonstrated nursing leadership, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
    • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
    • Unit/Dept Specific Required Certifications
  • Additional Skills (required): Successful completion of generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training.
