Job Description:
Elite is seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant who will be a key contributor to the Revenue Accounting team. This position will be responsible for driving key aspects of the revenue recognition process while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and ASC 606 across all product and service revenue streams. Day-to-day, you will support the Revenue Accounting team by preparing revenue-related accounting close deliverables, reviewing and approving output from the Billing team, and helping to administer revenue operational processes. This role would be ideal for someone with a background in revenue accounting and wants to grow their career in Revenue Recognition and Revenue Operations. This role will report to the Global Revenue Accounting Manager. This role requires the individual to be based in Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Central Standard Time (CST) time zone.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive revenue monthly and quarterly close processes by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and period-over-period trend analyses.
- Collaborate with the Billing team to ensure customer contracts are recorded accurately in NetSuite.
- Assist in the preparation of revenue-related reporting and financial statement disclosures.
- Manage the revenue accounting for the growing Partnership revenue stream.
- Work closely with FP&A to provide inputs for revenue forecasts as needed.
- Support audit requests with external auditors.
- Partner cross-functionally with other business groups (Sales, Sales Operations, FP&A, Services).
- Actively seek process improvements that will bring accuracy and efficiency to the team and financial systems.
- Seek to automate manual processes wherever possible.
- Participate in group discussions, foster a positive team environment, and present feedback to management · Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the department/company.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- 6–8 years years of experience in revenue recognition.
- Strong proficiency in NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management module, Salesforce, Excel, US GAAP and ASC 606 accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively manage one’s own work streams as needed.
- Exceptional attention to detail with an appreciation for accuracy, compliance, ethics, and internal control mindset.
- Ability to maintain a high level of client confidentiality.
- Ability to travel up None as business needs require
- Role requires the following physical capacity: Sedentary: primarily desk/computer work.
