If you live in Australia or New Zealand, you’ve likely heard of AMP. But at a time when society is changing, we are too. We’re now a nimbler business with new leadership and thinking.

For us, these are exciting times. There’s a real potential for big thinkers to help us redefine what financial services could be and turn our legacy into something even more positive and powerful for the future.

Help people create their tomorrow, while you create yours

We help people with their banking, super, retirement and finances. Through upturns, downturns, recessions, and major life transitions. Every day, we help people see and make more of their financial potential, so that they can create their tomorrow. And we’ve been doing it for over 170 years.

If we do our job well, we genuinely add to the prosperity of our country and its people.

AMP’s superannuation trustee, NM Superannuation Proprietary Limited, governs two funds: the Wealth Personal Superannuation and Pension Fund, and AMP Super Fund. Its independent Board ensures governance and member outcomes aligned with fiduciary obligations.

The Superannuation Trustee Office (STO) represents the Trustee’s strategy within AMP, advocating for members and supporting governance, risk, and regulatory engagement. Following regulatory changes and AMP’s strategic reset, the STO’s role has been elevated to strengthen oversight and member focus.

The purpose of this role is to uplift Trustee investment governance policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements is maintained (incl. SPS 530 Investment Governance).

How will you make an impact

  • Strengthening investment governance by enhancing framework navigation and uplifting policies through consolidation, removal of duplication, separation of process content, and targeted improvements.
  • Ensuring policy compliance with regulatory standards and guidance is maintained, demonstrated via the completion of regulatory requirements mapping.
  • Liaising with Trustee Service providers for review and sign-off.
  • For each policy produce a summary of changes and the rationale.
  • Producing written papers for the Trustee Board and Trustee Board Investment Committee to approve the uplifted policies (including a summary of material changes).

What You Will Bring to the Role

  • Previous 5+ years’ experience working in superannuation, investments or other financial services governance roles Bachelor’s degree in finance related discipline or law.
  • Experience with developing and drafting high-quality investment governance frameworks and policies in a superannuation environment
  •  Superannuation Industry qualification (e.g. RG 146) desirable.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the regulatory environment and compliance regime for financial services, including superannuation.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who excels at building collaborative relationships and managing stakeholders across Legal, Risk & Governance teams and Trustee service providers. You’ll bring sound judgment to everyday decisions, ensuring they align with Trustee investment governance policies and deliver positive outcomes for superannuation members.

Excellent analytical skills are essential, with the ability to assess varied issues and identify practical solutions that improve policy efficiency and strengthen governance frameworks. Clear and confident communication, written, verbal, virtual and in person is key, along with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work well with others to solve problems.

We value adaptability, professionalism, and discretion, especially in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and confidentiality are critical.

You’ll thrive here if…

If you can adapt from BAU to the ambiguous with ease, you’ll do well here. Change is never easy, so bring your commitment, grit and growth mindset.

Because we run lean, you’ll be expected to jump in and deliver across a variety of areas. Meaning, you’ll be closer to the action and executive decisions that influence where we go next.

If you’re someone that can hold their own, you’ll find AMP quite liberating.
