Job Description:

Genea Canberra currently has a full-time position available for a Fertility Scientist to join our scientific team on a 12 month contract. The position offers a wide range of responsibilities across Andrology, Endocrinology and Embryology. Canberra scientists also coordinate a sperm bank.

This role will see you performing all aspects of clinical Embryology services and diagnostic procedures n the laboratory. As an Embryologist your scope of work will include;

  • Manual handling of gametes and embryos
  • Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
  • Diagnostic Andrology procedures
  • Pre-implantation Diagnosis (PGD) including embryo hatching, biopsy and tissue handling
  • Laboratory maintenance including equipment checks, maintaining stock and maintenance
  • Communicating directly with patients and maintaining accurate records

Qualifications:

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Embryologist for this role - experience in an Fertility laboratory is essential. You will have an excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic. 

The ability to work as part of a small, skilled team is essential. This role has considerable patient contact, requiring excellent communication skills, and you must have a real commitment to providing excellent patient care
