Dawson Mine
Our Dawson operation is a large open-cut coal mine and is showing no signs of slowing down! Dawson’s mining process is completed by varied fleets of which this role focuses on the biggest; Draglines, Electric Rope Shovels, 600t & 260t Hydraulic Excavators fleets and diesel Overburden Drill fleet.
It’s not just the interesting large pieces of equipment that you would be working on in the field, it’s also the placement of Dawson, it is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett.
Job Description:We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to assist the Maintenance team with developing mechanical maintenance strategies, arranging weekly down days and managing secondary work.
With interactions across various departments, you will require solid written and verbal communication skills, enjoy solving maintenance problems and be an effective team player.
To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all safety and operating systems and a commitment to working together as part of a capable, friendly and professional team to achieve business objectives. You will also enjoy the challenge of maintaining an array of different mining fleets (Graders / Loaders / Wheel Dozers / Mechanical & Electrical Drive Trucks). Reviewing and implementing preventative maintenance and managing small projects.

Qualifications:- You will need to possess a relevant trade qualification or engineering degree and experience in large open cut mining operations, specifically the maintenance of Graders / Loaders / Wheel Dozers / Mechanical & Electrical Drive Trucks.
- Previous planning experience, and a well-developed understanding of Mobile Equipment maintenance strategies.
- Ability to focus on long-term solutions, ongoing innovation, maintenance costs, workplace efficiencies.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Programs, SAP, Obzervr, Link One and OEM parts systems are highly desirable.
