Job Purpose
Three Square Food Bank is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing food assistance to individuals and families in need across Southern Nevada. Our mission is to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. Through our partnerships and programs, we distribute millions of meals each year and work tirelessly to address the root causes of hunger in our community.
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring smooth, efficient and sanitary operations of Three Square’s Volunteer Room. This includes receiving product, inventory control, training and supervising individual and group volunteers and setting up the volunteer room with product according to the daily volunteer schedule. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a passion for volunteerism and community service.
Essential Job Functions
· Evaluate and determine the amount of product needed to accommodate large volunteer groups.
· Responsible for supervision of volunteers both onsite and offsite.
· Follow a regular schedule for cleaning and maintenance of volunteer spaces.
· Monitor inventory of supplies and notify Volunteer Manager when supplies are low.
· Responsible for on-going quality control of product following Three Square guidelines.
· Responsible for maintenance of accurate recording keeping related to reclamation product.
· In cooperation with the Warehouse Manager request loads of salvage as needed.
· Ensure that in-coming salvage loads are properly received and stored.
· Ensure that all discarded product is properly and securely disposed of.
· Match volunteers with appropriate roles based on their skills, interests, and availability.
· Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer experience by providing ongoing support, feedback, and recognition of volunteers.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable health laws and Three Square regulations.
· Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
Abilities
Experience with volunteers preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple deadlines, while paying attention to detail, handling interruptions, consistently maintaining focus on tasks and producing accurate work. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to effectively present Three Squares mission and volunteer information. Ability to respond to questions from businesses, donors, agencies, internal employees, and the general public promptly about volunteer activities and needs. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to public groups. Excellent problem solving and planning skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective and ongoing working relationships with diverse business community groups and individuals.

Working Environment
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions or outdoors in the elements. Job tasks are performed in close proximity to other people and volunteers; must travel to multiple sites and locations.

Qualifications:
Experience and Education
High school diploma or GED with 1 year of experience with volunteers.
Skills
Basic Skills: Active learning, active listening, critical thinking, basic math to include adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, reading comprehension, speaking, writing.
Social Skills: Coordination, instruction, negotiation, persuasion, service orientation, social perceptiveness.

Knowledge
Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records.
English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Technology: Basic skills with Microsoft Windows and Office environment (Word, Excel, Outlook) and volunteer management software.
Other: Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintained though-out employment.
Employee must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds. Ability to operate warehouse equipment including fork lifts and pallet jacks, previous supervision and warehouse experience is a plus. Must be available to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis.
