About The Team
The Marketing and Communications Office is a group of committed professional services staff dedicated to inspiring people to choose Murdoch. Through brand, marketing and communications strategies we enhance the reputation of the University, drive future growth and lead employee communications. The team share the work of Murdoch University’s academics, researchers, staff and students with the Murdoch community, as well as domestic and international audiences.
Your New Role!
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing, you will be leading the development and execution of brand marketing campaigns aligned with the University’s strategic and commercial objectives.
This role is based in the Murdoch University Marketing and Communications Office (MCO), you will be collaborating across Marketing, Communications, Student Management, IT, Colleges, and external partners to deliver brand and campaign initiatives that support domestic and international recruitment. It also ensures all activities are strategically aligned and measurable.
As the main lead for reputation projects in MCO, you will coordinate cross-functional teams and subject matter experts across the University. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are essential to align marketing efforts with shared business objectives.
Your key responsibilities will include –
Leadership
- Provide strategic direction and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to deliver against MCO KPIs
- Model university values through coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement, including senior leadership
- Promote a high-performance culture and embed strategic themes into decision-making across MCO
Operational
- Lead major marketing projects and campaigns, managing budgets, timelines, and compliance requirements
- Develop and implement integrated marketing plans using insights and data to drive recruitment and reputation outcomes
- Oversee brand governance, agency engagement, and continuous improvement of marketing activities and outputs

This Fixed Term (12 Months) | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $129,268 – $135,270 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, business or related field, with 3+ years’ experience in senior marketing role
- Proven experience in brand marketing and integrated campaign development to meet strategic KPIs
- Strong skills in writing briefs, managing agencies, and delivering campaigns within budget and timelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present effectively
- Highly organised, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
