Project Manager – Fruit Technology & Life Sciences (m/f/d) en Agrana

The AGRANA Research & Innovation Center (ARIC) is the R&D company of AGRANA and acts as an interdisciplinary research institute in the area of sugar, starch and fruit located in Tulln, Austria. Our goal is to provide innovation, scientific research, technologies and application expertises across food, beverage, cosmetics and other industrial markets supporting AGRANA and our customers in their future strategy.

To support our team at the Tulln site, we are looking for a project manager in the area of Micro- and molecular biology.

Your responsibilities:

• Supervision and Performance of microbiological and molecular biological analyses (classical culture methods, PCR, sequencing, etc.)
• Processing and evaluation of microbiological customer complaints. Execution of root cause analyses and derivation of suitable corrective and preventive actions
• Close collaboration with internal interfaces (Quality Assurance, Production, R&D)
• Contributing to the preparation of the annual plan for R&D activities in coordination with the manager. Planning, execution, and implementation of defined projects in alignment with the manager and relevant stakeholders.
• Contribution and generation of ideas, internal and external knowledge exchange through literature research, trade fair visits, participation in conferences, etc., as well as contact with universities and research institutes
• Planning, execution, and implementation of investigations on a laboratory, pilot, and industrial scale
• Evaluation and documentation of results, preparation of protocols and reports, and presentation of findings to internal and external clients
• Support of industrial-scale trials at production sites

Your profile:

• Completed studies (university or university of applied sciences) in the field of microbiology, food technology and/or biotechnology or a related area
• Ideally, several years of relevant professional experience
• Team player, flexible, and capable of working precisely and independently
• Open and communicative personality with a passion for research
• Very good command of German and English
• Willingness to travel to our national and international subsidiaries, and a class B driver’s license
