Bring History and Community Connection to Life at the WACA Ground! 

WA Cricket is on the lookout for a part time creative Museum & Tours Manager to lead the design, build, and launch of the brand new WACA Ground Museum, a vibrant space that will celebrate the spirit, stories, and history of the iconic WACA Ground and launch the new WACA Ground Tours Program. 

This is your chance to create something truly special, a museum and tours program that inspires curiosity, connects generations, and becomes one of Perth’s must visit cultural destinations.

From concept and construction through to opening day (and beyond), you’ll shape the museum’s story, lead exhibitions, oversee our collection, and create an unforgettable visitor experience. You’ll also take charge of the WACA Ground Tours Program, bringing the history and magic of the WACA Ground to life for every guest. 

This role will start at 3 days a week and then move to full time around May 2026.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Act as WA Cricket’s lead for the final stages of the museum’s design and construction, liaising with the WACA Ground Improvement Project Team and museum Design and Build contractors to ensure timely and accurate input.
  • Manage the launch of the WACA Ground Museum and Tour Program to drive visibility and visitor engagement.
  • Contribute to marketing strategies for exhibitions, events, and programs.
  • Lead the design and delivery of the WACA Ground Tour Program, focusing on customer experience and revenue targets.
  • Oversee daily museum operations, including staff rostering and ensuring efficient service delivery.
  • Continuously improve visitor experiences by responding to feedback and innovating service offerings.
  • Manage the museum’s budget, ensuring responsible resource allocation and financial sustainability.
  • Oversee acquisition, preservation, and documentation of our collection, and coordinate engaging exhibitions and programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government, education, tourism, and community stakeholders, including school engagement and donor cultivation.

A great fit for this role looks like

  • Proven experience in museum leadership, cultural institutions, or centre management experience.
  • Strong background in museum or exhibition design and launch.
  • Understanding museum curation, exhibition planning, and collection management principles.
  • Experience in strategic planning, operational management, and financial oversight within a cultural or tourism setting
  • Ability to design and implement engagement programs and public outreach initiatives
  • Experience managing budgets, ensuring financial sustainability, and driving revenue growth
  • Ability to oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, rostering, and customer service improvements
  • Knowledge of compliance, health and safety standards, and risk management in a museum or public venue.
  • Passion for history, education, and community engagement.
