Description

Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role plays a pivotal part in driving sales growth by actively supporting the sales team in closing business opportunities and expanding customer engagement. It leverages deep product expertise across Brodart Books and Library Services to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs and enhance value-added offerings.

Functioning as a strategic liaison between sales and support, the position ensures customer challenges are clearly communicated and resolved, contributing to long-term satisfaction and retention. It also supports customer implementation efforts throughout the onboarding lifecycle – with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Ongoing responsibilities include strengthening customer relationships through consultative support, workflow optimization, and collaboration with third-party vendors. The role maintains accurate documentation in Salesforce.com and fosters alignment across Brodart’s customer-facing teams to ensure seamless service delivery and sustained sales success.

 

  • Lead sales efforts by actively participating in strategic sales calls and presentations to close business, with a focus on promoting Brodart’s value-added services and customized cataloging solutions.
  • Serve as a key liaison between sales and support teams to ensure customer challenges, demands, and feedback are clearly communicated and addressed in a timely, effective manner.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of all Brodart Books and Library Services products, with a particular emphasis on cataloging workflows, metadata standards, and collection development strategies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to recommend enhancements to platform functionality and service delivery that improve customer satisfaction and drive sales growth.
  • Support customer implementation projects from planning through launch, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Lead sales planning meetings to gather requirements, define success metrics, and ensure alignment between customer expectations and Brodart’s service capabilities.
  • Facilitate consultative meetings with customers to successfully launch new services, ensuring smooth transitions and long-term engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by developing tailored plans to meet evolving needs.
  • Ensure all internal and external documentation is accurate and current in Salesforce.com to support sales tracking, customer service, and reporting.
  • Foster collaboration across Brodart’s customer-facing teams to ensure unified service delivery and consistent customer experience.
  • Maintain a professional work space at home for zoom meetings.
  • Nationwide travel at the discretion of the Director of Sales.
  • Attendance at National Trade shows at the discretion of the Director of Sales.
  • Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher classification as required.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or directly related experience.
  • Ten or more years of library industry experience in cataloging service and/or sales, operations, and project management.
  • Strong sales ability, relationship-building skills, and consultative selling skills.
  • Knowledge of public library products and services, i.e., cataloging and processing, collection development and selection, opening day collections, integrated library systems, etc.
  • Computer skills including the ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook as well as the ability to learn Brodart’s internal systems for viewing reports and customer information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills, presentation skills, problem resolution skills, communication skills, and professional appearance and telephone presence.
  • Attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Strong planning skills and time management skills.
  • Remote office environment, close and distant vision, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, talk and hear, sitting, standing, walking.
  • Significant travel required to customers, conventions, sales territories and home office including weekends.
