Summary:
Provide technical expertise in standard labor analysis and lean manufacturing. The Advanced Lean Industrial Engineer is the key link to providing technical support to plant IE’s on standards related to material flow, provide support in the evaluation and implementation strike zone workstation layouts, and maintain key performance measurements to monitor and exceed department goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Mentor plant and COE IEs.
- Provide technical support in development, evaluation, implementation and improvement of best business practices as it relates to material flow.
- Development and analysis of future program material flow from dock to point of use.
- Provide technical support for the evaluation and implementation of best business practices as it relates to material flow.
- Provide technical support, assistance, training, and leadership to plant teams in the implementation of material flow standards.
- Support evaluation and updates to current materials standards.
- Provide training and technical assistance in the role out of changes to the material flow best business practices.
- Provide Technical support and leadership with indirect labor motion-based time standards.
- Maintenance of a central database for plant layouts, kitting process books, material handling labor tool, and other lean manufacturing documentation.
- Provide technical support and assist with labor roadmaps to decrease gap to labor goal
- Provide technical support and leadership in the establishment of future manufacturing footprint and core assembly processes.
- Provide technical support and data to the Design for Assembly team
- Support key initiatives and core projects as required.
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering - Industrial preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience – automotive interiors experience desired
- Working experience in a manufacturing assembly facility – JIT manufacturing experience desired
- MODapts certification required – ability to train others is desired
- Strong computer skills required (MS Office, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills – ability to work in a matrix organization and effectively lead without direct positional authority is required
- Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork (verbal and documentation) skills – ability to write clear and concise technical documentation is required
- Flexible work & Extensive travel and plant visits is required
