Job Title: Client Liaison / Paraprofessional (Part-Time Temporary)
Department: Audit & Tax Services
Reports To: Audit/Tax Partners
Work Schedule to Start: 10 hours per week (flexible, remote/hybrid potential)
Location: In person or remote
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Client Liaison / Paraprofessional to support our audit and tax teams in delivering a streamlined and high-quality client experience. This role is ideal for a former public accounting professional — such as an experienced auditor — looking to re-enter the workforce in a flexible, part-time capacity.
This is a trial opportunity with the potential to expand based on the success of the initiative. The position would support approximately 80 attest engagements (audit, review, compilation) and 120 tax returns annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engagement Management:
- Prepare and manage engagement letters and coordinate follow-up with clients.
- Set up and monitor Suralink portals for secure document exchange.
- Track and maintain client status updates prior to audit/tax engagement start dates.
- Scheduling & Coordination:
- Coordinate fieldwork scheduling with clients and internal teams.
- Confirm client readiness and ensure receipt of necessary documentation before engagement begins.
- File Preparation:
- Assist in rolling forward prior-year audit engagement files, including planning and general sections.
- Prepare preliminary documentation for manager and staff use.
- Client Communication & Relationship Support:
- Serve as a point of contact for routine client communication and updates.
- Support billing requests and assist with accounts receivable follow-up, as client relationships develop.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in public accounting, ideally at the senior associate level or above.
- Strong understanding of audit/tax workflows and client service timelines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with limited supervision.
Key Attributes for Success:
- Professionalism and client-service mindset.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable.
- Comfortable working independently and remotely.
- Eager to contribute to team efficiency and client satisfaction.
Why This Role Matters:
This position is designed to relieve managers of repeatable, time-intensive tasks, enabling them to focus on high-level technical work, client strategy, and professional development. Additionally, this role supports improved engagement efficiency, smoother fieldwork preparation, and enhanced client readiness — contributing to a more productive audit and tax season overall.
All hours are billable to client engagements at a lower rate than manager time, providing significant value to the firm and clients alike.
