Job Description
Support the Store Manager in creating a safe customer and colleague environment by championing
and implementing our Health and Safety Vision, ‘Safe Today, Safe Tomorrow’ and promoting our
Environmental Primark Cares Sustainability strategy by taking responsibility for EHS and Operational
activities in store.
Reports to: Store Manager / General Manager
This role will:
• Work closely with the Store Manager and collaborate with the store management team to drive
operational excellence and create a culture of safe working by implementing all EHS policies and
procedures, and proactively mitigating hazards that may arise. Act as a role model, lead and
coach the store team in maintaining a safe and efficient place of work. Line manage EHS &
Operations In-store Lead with their daily tasks.
Overview of Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Experience
• Collaborate with the store management team to resolve customer complaints and queries
• Support the Store Manager with completing retail manager tasks in exceptional circumstances
• Maintain the general appearance of the store to provide a great customer experience (e.g. fixtures
and fittings, lights, store exterior, etc.)
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
• Lead and implement Envionmental Health and Safety policies & procedures and manage general
duties of care for all colleagues, contractors & visitors
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to proactively manage and resolve EHS risks
• Conduct and review EHS checks in a timely manner (e.g. Daily, weekly, period/quarterly and
yearly)
• Complete EHS risk assessments in line with EHS policies and procedures
• Escalate EHS issues as required to central EHS Manager
• Maintain and monitor Fire Safety, Asbestos Management and Water Systems Maintenance
• Lead Health & Safety Committee meetings with relevant representatives, liaise with store
management team on actions / feedback and communicate outcomes to all colleagues
• Raise any accidents and incidents through the PiNS Management system and inform the Store
Manager
• Investigate inicidents to root cause including regular review of incident catergorisations &
classifications for consistency
• Train management team on the effective use of the PiNS system
• Review accidents and take action on preventative measures to minimise risks to customers and
colleagues
• Deliver and implement Environmental initiatives within the store including but not limited to Energy
Management, Waste Management & Chemical Management

• Conduct EHS self audits with all available information and communicate results to the Store
Manager for forward planning and compliance
• Execute fire drills and evaluate the effectiveness of evacuations. Communicate the evaluation to
Fire Marshalls, Store Manager and any other relevant parties
• Coordinate the Store’s Fire Warden Team and the develop effective Emergency Evacuation
Procedures
• Conduct weekly testing of fire alarm and sprinkler system to ensure effectiveness, reporting faults
as appropriate
Operations / Cost Control
• Work with the Store Manager in delivering operational excellence by completing Operations
checks and promoting compliance to Safe Systems of Work
• Routinely conduct Operational self audits with all available information and communicate results
to the Store Manager for forward planning and compliance
• Review DAN/WAN communications and action Operations and EHS tasks
• Lead Stock Loss meetings with relevant representatives, liaise with the store management team
on actions / feedback and communicate outcomes to all colleagues
• Identify areas of stock loss and actively drive collaboration with management team to find
solutions
• Investigate IntelliQ alerts and consult with the Store Manager and P&C on findings and
resolutions
• Assist the Store Manager in managing third party relationships (contractors, shopping centre
management, property insurance visits, police, etc.)
• Contractor Management: Review RAMS; Liaise with SDFM & EHS, spot checks, manage permit
to work, etc.
• Maintain a safe store environment with excellent standards by raising all maintenance repair work
orders through PRIMMS system and following up on any outstanding requests in a timely manner
• Oversee implementation of Primark's waste management procedures
• Manage the relationships with the Security and Sparkle teams to complete the daily & weekly
checks to create an amazing experience for colleagues and customers
• Manage updates to systems and maintain stock file accuracy (e.g. Soiled & Damaged, New Life,
kimball corrections, markdowns, delivery dockets, transfers in/out, balances and transvals)
People
• Act as a role model and support colleagues in adhering to all Operations and EHS policies and
procedures
• Deliver ongoing training to Store Management in Operations and EHS systems and practices
• Manage the training matrix with P&C, deliver training as required, particiate in central EHS
training programs
• Provide Operations and EHS coaching to colleagues through communication and engagement
(Primark Way of Communicating)
• Communicate the awareness and compliance with, Company guidelines and legislation in relation
to the use of equipment, substances and all workplace activities
• Review InMoment results and work with store management team to enhance customer
experience
• Line manage and support EHS & Operations In-store Lead on EHS and Operations tasks
• Collaborate with the P&C team to ensure Health and Safety training for new starters and refresher
training for all colleagues are up to date

• Organise First Aid training/refresher training to plan for adequate coverage of First Aiders in store
Skills & Experience
• 3 years management experience
• Must have completed Operations / EHS training in line with local guidelines prior to taking on role
• Be willing to work towards the successful completion of relevant EHS qualifications; such as
NEBOSH, Diploma and Chartered Membership of IOSH
