The Senior Director for NSF’s Nutrition and Wellness business will focus on expanding our Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) services within the sector leading the strategic vision, profitable growth and commercialization efforts globally. This role requires market knowledge and expertise within the dietary supplements, cosmetics and personal care sectors along with strong leadership skills to drive business growth and operational excellence. This position will be on a hybrid work arrangement based out of NSF Headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global strategy to accelerate the profitable growth of the Nutrition and Wellness business unit 
  • Identify and capitalize on market growth opportunities in key geographical markets including the EU, Brazil, China, India, Australia and Korea in collaboration with regional leadership 
  • Drive the commercialization strategy including the identification of key growth bets in collaboration with Marketing 
  • Develop and manage the 3-year strategy plan, the annual operating plan, and quarterly forecasts
  • Drive the financial performance of the business unit, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency 
  • Drive the organic investment, acquisition, and portfolio management strategy in collaboration with Corporate Development 
  • Work with the Product Claims business unit to develop a truly joint play testing, inspection and certification offer for the Nutrition and Wellness industry 
  • Work with Marketing to develop brand architecture, price positioning and brand awareness/ consumer marketing campaigns 
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key specifiers, retailers, influencers, clients, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies 
  • Work with Standards and Government Affairs to promote NSF and develop new protocols. 
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities, partnerships, and strategic alliances to elevate brand awareness and support the growth strategy 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance differentiation, speed to deliver and customer loyalty 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global leadership team 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability 
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment across all regions and functions 
  • Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations, corporate governance and quality requirements 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred 
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior management experience in the supplements and personal care industry and/or consumer product group (CPG) industry 
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills partnering with global peers and partners including working within a matrixed organization. 
  • Proven track record in P&L management and driving business growth 
  • Extensive international experience in leading and growing a global business outside the US.  
  • Strong experience in commercialization, business development, and strategic planning 
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities 
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen 
  • Superior communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills 
  • In-depth knowledge of global regulatory standards and compliance in the supplements and personal care industry 
  • Results-driven and customer-focused 
  • Hybrid at the Ann Arbor World Headquarters
