We have a temporary need for an Applications Lab Technician to support our Snack Applications team. The Applications Technician is responsible for providing project support to R&D, Technology, Sales, Category Management, etc. as needs arise. The Application Technician should provide value to projects and company efforts with supervision.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Prepare small-scale blends of specific written formulas as per supervisor and/or customer request. 
  • Calculate raw materials and operate a balance to weigh the amounts of materials needed. 
  • Mix materials in proper sequence in a prescribed manner. 
  • Maintain stock of raw materials and supply items necessary for the department to function properly. 
  • Maintain records of formulas as requested. 
  • Prepare finished products (applications) for informal taste tests, presentations, and customer samples. 
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean and in working condition. 
  • Work under general supervision. 
  • Coordinates and leads all aspects of the lab  
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment. 
  • Participates in the prototype development process from concept through product design. 
  • Provides suggestions for laboratory equipment. 
  • Provides support and manages project execution from benchtop through pilot scale-up process when necessary 
  • Develop understanding of Mane project processes to move projects forward 
  • Handle special tasks and projects as requested in order to meet company objectives. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a preference in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related technical discipline. 
  • Product and process development knowledge of flavor technology. 
  • Preferred a minimum of one year in a flavor/food industry preferred with experience in food preparation and/or flavor research and development.
