The IT Support Intern will provide valuable assistance to the IT Team by supporting day-to-day technology needs, ensuring smooth operations across the organization, and delivering responsive service to team members. Through hands-on experience, the intern will build technical skills, gain exposure to real-world IT processes, and contribute meaningfully to departmental goals. In addition to daily support tasks, the intern will complete a vital technical project that strengthens the company’s IT capabilities while further developing their own knowledge and expertise in the field. In addition to daily contributions, the intern will complete an end-of-program project that adds value to the organization while showcasing their growth and achievements throughout the internship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
IT Support
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical problems related to operating systems, software applications, and network connectivity.
- Assist in setting up new workstations, including hardware installation and software configuration.
- Help maintain inventory of hardware and software assets, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and recorded.
- Assist with software installations, updates, and patches across company systems and user devices.
- Respond to service desk tickets and escalate more complex issues to senior IT staff.
- Perform routine system checks and assist with IT asset maintenance.
- Help set up and troubleshoot conference room AV equipment and ensure the smooth operation of meetings.
- Provide guidance and training to end-users on basic IT procedures and applications.
- Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and knowledge sharing in internal databases.
- Assist with data backups and recovery processes, ensuring regular and secure backups are performed.
- Help maintain IT policies and procedures documentation.

EDUCATION
- Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
TALENTS
- Basic understanding of computer systems, software, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and/or Mac OS platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well in a team and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with common IT support tools (e.g., ticketing systems, remote desktop tools, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of networking (IP addressing, routers, switches, firewalls).
