Overview

Bluehawk is seeking a Data Scientist – Mid to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. The Data Scientist will apply advanced analytical methods, data engineering, and statistical modeling to transform complex data into actionable intelligence insights. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, critical thinking, and innovation to design and implement data-driven solutions that enhance mission effectiveness across the intelligence enterprise.

Location: DIA Headquarters, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling
Clearance: Active TS/SCI (CI Polygraph preferred)
Work Schedule: Standard duty hours, no shift work

• Conduct data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis to support analytic and operational decision-making.
• Retrieve, clean, and process structured and unstructured data from multiple sources to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
• Develop and implement machine learning models and AI-driven tools, such as recommendation systems, predictive analytics, and automated workflows.
• Apply statistical and scientific techniques to correlate data and create graphical, written, and visual narrative products that clearly communicate findings.
• Build data pipelines and integrate disparate data sources using programming languages and tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
• Create dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools to support intelligence analysis.
• Lead or contribute to the automation of data processes, optimizing efficiency and consistency in analytic production.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into analytical solutions that directly support intelligence missions.

• Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability and willingness to obtain a polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining.
• Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
• Proficiency in statistical and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, or SQL).
• Experience developing predictive data models, performing quantitative analyses, and visualizing target data sources.
• Demonstrated experience implementing automation in data processing, presentation, or manipulation.
• Strong knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience developing algorithms and data solutions leveraging Python and SQL.
• Experience with natural language processing (NLP), text mining, or large language models (LLMs).
• Experience implementing machine learning and predictive analytics for large data/Multi-INT environments.
• Familiarity with Excel MBA tools and advanced statistical modeling.
• Active CI Polygraph.
