Position Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Pay Range: $95k-$100k 
Scheduled Hours: 8:30- 5:00 PM MST

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Purpose of this Role:The Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Coordinating activities of external auditors
  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Review aged receivables for risk
  • Perform treasury management functions
  • Assist in the preparation of tax documents
  • Additional duties/ projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Highly skilled in use of excel spreadsheets
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
  • Must be a team player and willing to assist in multiple areas as necessary

Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with preference in Accounting/Finance
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in Finance related role
  • Financial accreditation/certification a plus

Conditions of Work:

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Ability to remain focused for extended periods
  • Ability to work on computers for a significant portion of the day
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements as required for positions (Typing, clicking, swiveling)
  • Ability to multi-task
