An excellent opportunity exists to work for a government contractor with competitive compensation and work-life balance. Posterity Group is seeking experienced Certified Autransfusionist for the Kansas City VA Medical Center.

Regular work hours are Monday through Friday for eight (8) hours a day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  

One (1) of the full time autotransfusionist be in an on-call status for 24 hours a day and seven (7) days a week including all Federal Holidays and be within 30 minutes of the facility to support these emergent cases 

• The Autotransfusionist is responsible for coordinating scheduled periodic preventative maintenance and repair calls for VA owned equipment and maintain record as such; sets up and operates autotransfusion pump for surgical procedures other than open heart.  
• Collect and document quality control assays.
• Maintain accurate and orderly documentation of procedures performed.
• Recognize problems, identify causes and take corrective action with minimal supervision.
• Communicate information clearly and professionally to physicians, ancillary personnel and colleagues.
• Assist in training.
• Participate in maintaining and stocking an adequate inventory of supplies for the work area.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow OSHA required procedures for blood handling.
• Enhance education through in-services, seminars and certification processes.

Requirements

• at least 3 years of relevant experience 
• valid BLS
• Autotransfusion Certification or equivalent experience in exchange
