Job Description Summary
The Assistant Athletic Director of Creative Video Production will work as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics Broadcasting & Production staff and be under the direct supervision of the Associate Athletic Director of Broadcast & Production. This position is the lead producer for the Men's Basketball program.The Assistant Athletic Director of Creative Video Production will develop, produce, and distribute creative audio-visual content across all Maryland Athletics platforms. As the lead producer in the unit, this position will work closely with key representatives from other areas, including Strategic Communications and Content Development, Marketing Strategy and Fan Experience, Maryland Sports Properties, and the prevalent team recruiting personnel. The role will provide oversight of two assistant directors, at least two Production Assistants, and the student creative video production team, including the responsibility to hire and teach students to assist with responsibilities, providing real-world experience in a fast-paced environment. The individual will establish and enforce a consistent creative look to all produced video pieces, demonstrating and encouraging creativity while balancing the overall brand of the department. This position will develop and maintain a consistent structure of content types across teams and distribution platforms, including digital, in-venue, and commercial. A strong sense of time management and the ability to fluidly adapt plans when unexpected challenges arise is essential. The position will prioritize projects that directly contribute to the athletic department's bottom-line revenue goals, with a focus on football, men's & women's basketball, and the Terrapin Club. Lastly, a key responsibility is to create a plan to include and execute captioning for all audio-visual content on Maryland Athletics-owned platforms (including in-venue and on the website) to ensure all fans, donors, and current and future student-athletes feel the Maryland experience.
Physical Demands: The position requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, along with the ability to operate standard office equipment with manual dexterity. The role involves occasional standing or walking to attend meetings or conduct orientations and may require lifting light office materials (up to 20 pounds). Visual acuity and effective verbal and auditory communication are essential for reviewing financial data and interacting with employees in person, by phone, or virtually.
Preferences: Candidates with collegiate or professional sports production experience and those with provable experience in 3D and 4D compositing.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Six (6) years of experience in an athletics or higher education setting. One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics administrative structure and responsibilities.
Knowledge of best practices in supervision and communication.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
Ability to multitask and prioritize within unit and department environment as well manage large-scale athletics-related projects.
