Vanity Fair is looking for a full-time writer to join our dedicated, hard-working, team. The ideal candidate must be able to report, write, and update stories for digital platforms, based on SEO terms, trending topics on social media, and editorial decision making. This role is an integral part of the edit team, with experience balancing short-term and fast-turnaround stories with longer-term projects. The writer will be working across sections, and a top candidate is versatile—with an understanding of how to write a story around all editorial facets of the brand.
Primary Responsibilities:
Pitch, report, and write stories on platforms, balancing news and analysis of the most important stories with original investigative reporting, features, or essays.
Collaborate with audio, video, events, and social media teams as needed to develop ways of telling stories on other platforms. Conceptualizing how stories might live across all editorial facets of the brand, and brainstorming and pitching ideas for all platforms (digital, print, social, podcast, video, etc)

Requirements:
Sound editorial judgment, with strong writing and research skills
Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to adhere to tight deadlines, sometimes turning around copy within one work day
Ability to communicate well with people across departments (Art, Photo, etc.), at all levels of the brand, and with freelancers/outside contributors
3-5 years experience in journalism, writing, or related fields; ideally including reporting and editing experience and some familiarity with headline best practices, SEO, and newsletter strategy
The expected base salary range for this position is from $75k-$103. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
