JOB PURPOSE:
As a key member of the Construction Team, the Shop Manager will ensure efficient functioning of the Energy 1 Bozeman, MT shop and support employees with timely and efficient shop management. This position reports to the Construction Operations Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary role of the Shop Manager is to maintain parts/tool organization, cleanliness of the shop, receive inventory and distribute shipments, and coordinate fleet.
Specific Job Duties:
- Maintain parts organization and cleanliness of the shop.
- Order material, tools, and equipment for jobs from suppliers as necessary.
- Receive, inventory, and distribute shipments.
- Hire, train and manage Parts Runners/Shop Support. May perform duties of the Parts Runners in their absence.
- Create and implement policies and procedures for efficient material procurement, storage, and distribution.
- Create and implement policies and procedures for job site setup and jobsite clean off.
- Coordinate and schedule timely material and tool delivery to shop and jobsite locations.
- Purchase and maintain material and PPE stock for shop.
- Collaborate with Field Technicians, Department Managers, and Project Managers to ensure they have the correct tools, equipment, and materials for jobs.
- Maintain and document the inventory of company tools, performing regular maintenance to ensure tools are in good working condition.
- Fleet Coordination
- Track, schedule, and ensure maintenance or repairs are up to date for company vehicles, i.e. oil changes, tire rotations, accident repairs, recalls, etc.
- Maintain record of repairs performed on company trucks and tools.
- Assist administrative team with keeping the fleet database updated.
- Assist administrative team with accident reporting.
- May perform other fleet-related tasks as needed.
- Other shop or parts-related duties as requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with a variety of personalities across multiple departments.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Strong organization skills, high attention to detail, record keeping, and follow-up.
- 3-5 years prior shop supervision experience
- 1-2 years supervisory experience
- 2+ years forklift experience, with current OSHA Forklift certification, or willing to obtain certification within 6-months of employment.
- Preferred: OSHA Forklift trainer certification
- Preferred: OSHA-10 training
- Preferred: Knowledge of heating, electrical, and plumbing tools/materials
- Preferred: Fleet coordination experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk and hear others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, including above the head. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The physical environment requires the employee to typically work inside shop space and frequently work outside in all weather conditions.
- This position is located in Bozeman MT, and will require regular non-overnight travel to multiple E1 sites as the need arises.
- Overnight travel is not expected.
- This position may be requested to work overtime and weekends on occasion.
