Resource Aide - LHS - Part time
Overview: The primary role of the Resource Aide position is to monitor student behaviors, aid tutoring teachers and to create a caring & inclusive learning atmosphere.
Reports to: Associate Principal for Teaching and Learning
Employee Status: Educational Support Professional - Indirect Paraprofessional

Calendar: 178 Student Attendance Days, 9:00am - 2:00pm
Qualifications: Education and experience equivalent to high school graduation
Illinois Paraprofessional license required
Professional/Personal Characteristics:
- Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under varying deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Proficient with Google G-Suite, office and phone equipment
- Ability to work as part of an educational team to support the needs of individual or groups of students
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor student behaviors to create a safe and caring learning environment and take student attendance, and communicate with administration or certified staff when necessary
- Assist students in organizing a learning plan and in completing of assignments
- Create an academic study environment for students
- Develop positive relationships with students and monitor their social/emotional states; alerting LST’s for any concerning behaviors
- Assist building administration with special curriculum and instructional projects
- Partner with and support teachers and tutors in the resource space in addressing student needs
- Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor
