About the Team
Within the Wind River Cloud team, we work with large-scale projects including Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack and fast-paced Open-Source technologies that are in high demand from our customers. Wind River Cloud has adopted these technologies into the core of our product, which is driving us to find experienced and high-performing individuals that can learn and contribute to these full software stack solutions to fulfill the strict requirements of edge computing use cases from security to high availability. The team delivers in the areas of configuration management, fault management and host management. In addition, Wind River Cloud team is a leading contributor to the Open Source StarlingX cloud native project, to manage and maintain the critical infrastructure for highly distributed Edge solutions, primarily 5G.
The right candidate will possess proven software test and automation skills. You are expected to be versatile and able to thrive in a dynamic environment contributing to the product verification team. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and can bring order to ambiguous scenarios. Maturity, impeccable judgment, and the ability to influence and lead are essential to success in this role.
Who You Will Work With
• The successful candidate will work and collaborate with development and customer-facing teams to ensure high levels of product quality.
• Collaborate with Customer Support, Product Management and Development teams to bring a leading-edge solution to market on time.
• This position will report to the Test Manager for Cloud Platform.
Responsibilities
• Develop feature/system tests and execution of feature/system test cases for a highly available, carrier grade platform which will be the platform of choice for 5G vendors
• Work with the most dynamic and exciting open-source software projects today – Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, Helm, OpenStack, Ansible, Ceph, etc
• Work as part of a team focused on containerization, virtualization, VM management and fault tolerant/carrier grade testing.
• Investigate and report issues during product verification cycles
• Provide support to documentation and customer-facing teams
• Participate in all aspects of the software development process using agile development
Qualifications/Skills
• BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree)
• More than 10 years of testing experience and some of it in system wide testing (performance, load testing)
• Experience in software test automation
• Experience with Linux environment
• Strong programming skills using Python or similar programming languages
• Understanding of network technologies such as switching, routing, firewalls, L2/L3 protocols
• Understanding and working knowledge of PTP
• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional team player who works well in collaborative environments
• Self-managed, fast learner with the desire and ability to master new technologies
• Experience with containers and/or cloud-based technologies including Kubernetes
