About the role
This role is pivotal in accelerating the strategic evolution of our Boots brand & exclusives offer, especially in gifting. It will spearhead the transformation of our own-brand gifting proposition, including beauty boxes, and lead the identification, development, and execution of high-impact brand partnerships and collaborations across Beauty, Health, and Wellness.
This role must business growth through a transformed, exciting product portfolio for years to come - driving innovation, speed to market and commercial agility to ensure Boots remains competitive, relevant, and differentiated.
Key responsibilities
This role reports into the Business Unit Director – GM but works closely across many of the commercial categories. There is a team of 8 colleagues within this team, but also partners with the Head of Product – Gifting and team to drive the total Gifting proposition.
Lead the strategic transformation of the Boots gifting proposition, including the development of a 5-year strategy covering commercial and operational models, brand ownership structure (own brand, licensed: insourced/outsourced), sourcing strategies, and routes to market.
Drive the identification, onboarding, and development of new brand partners for gifting and year-round exclusives.
Evolve the Box & Advent Calendar programme, aligning with Boots' broader commercial and category strategy.
Lead the development and execution of new cross-category collaborations (e.g. Boots x external brand/influencer) across Beauty, Health, and Wellness.
Define new business models for emerging proprietary brands, particularly those without existing gifting capability, supporting them to enter this space in partnership with the Boots brand.
Develop a transformative fast-trial retail model for Boots brand to bring trend-led, high-potential products to market at pace in partnership with the Ignite programme.
Financial Responsibility: Own the financial planning and performance for newly established partnerships, transformative programmes, and pilot initiatives- accountable for return on investment, margin delivery, and P&L impact in early phases. This role will be responsible for delivery of the own brand & exclusive element of gifting & own brand 3 year plan growth commitments.
What you'll need to have
Creativity - Demonstrates the ability to generate original ideas, think outside of the box, and develop innovative solutions to complex problems
Trend – Demonstrates understanding of trend cycles, understanding the lifecycle and when the brands are both relevant and on the downturn(and being brave to call the exit timing!)
Commerciality – demonstrates a strong understanding of market dynamics, customers needs and business objectives. Drive profitability, efficiency and competitive advantage.
Influencing and building relationships - Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, suppliers, external experts, and brand partners.
Motivate the wider team – this role is the spokesperson for our gifting transformation, and therefore needs to be able to motivate both their own team, but also the broader business, to be excited about driving change in this category.
Tenacity – strong determination in the face of challenges, maintaining focus and drive to achieve goals, even when encountering obstacles and setbacks.
Experience of operating at a Level 4Demonstration of creativity around product development and trend
Experience of working with both our internal sourcing team and external partners to bring product to market.
