QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:

  • Must be a current IRSC full-time faculty member on a Continuing Contract status;
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution is required
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Must have and understanding of contemporary pedagogy;
  • Must have the ability to use data in decision making;
  • Ability to work with full and part-time faculty from diverse backgrounds and with various experience levels;
  • Ability to function effectively with multiple priorities;
  • Ability to be well organized and demonstrate effective time management, flexibility and creativity;
  • Ability to be an effective decision maker and creative problem solver;
  • Current licensure may also be required by division/school.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:         

The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Supporting effective teaching strategies; 
  • Supporting instructional activities to promote learning outcome assessment;  
  • Use of data analytics to promote student retention and completion;  
  • Coordinates and supervises divisional staffing; 
  • Schedule construction; 
  • Divisional budgeting; 
  • Curricular maintenance; 
  • Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion; 
  • Addressing student concerns; 
  • Assist Dean student enrollment, retention, completion and transfer/job placement and licensure;
  • Assist in submission of college, state, and accreditation reporting. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Reports directly to the Dean of the assigned Division or School.
  • Assists in the divisional schedule of courses, makes faculty assignments, and appropriate modifications in coordination with the Dean, Department Chairs, and Campus Presidents;
  • Assists Dean with program oversight to ensure academic integrity and rigor.
  • Works to ensure compliance with internal academic policies, State agencies and accrediting bodies; 
  • Assists in development of State and Accrediting body reporting documents;
  • Assists in the hiring process of full and part-time faculty and staff;
  • Observes teaching of full and part-time faculty and provides constructive feedback;
  • Assists faculty in developing, assessing and evaluating program and student learning outcomes;
  • Provides support and guidance for facilities and equipment instruction, procurement and maintenance;
  • Assists in managing the budget and provides input into the construction of the budget.
  • Assists with submissions to the Curriculum Committee for programs as well as assists with updating the College catalog and/or corresponding State and accreditation documents;
  • May assist with grant development and oversight;
  • Addresses student issues as necessary;
  • Available to assist with instructional absences as needed;
  • Promotes student retention, completion and transfer/job placement by attendance at IRSC events and identifies methods for improvement;
  • Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires an ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and to present verbal lectures/demonstrations, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.  It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.

The compensation for this position will be the faculty member's current Professorial Rank plus 1/11th of a month of salary. | Open Until Filled.
