The Cafeteria Monitor assists in the maintenance of an orderly, safe and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria by supervising, assisting and supporting students during lunch.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains a welcoming, healthy and productive cafeteria environment for students, teachers and staff.
- Circulates among the tables during mealtime, monitoring student behavior and offering assistants to students who need help.
- Assists the janitorial staff with the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas by wiping down tables, chairs and surrounding areas when students leave the cafeteria.
- Assists in establishing, implementing and supervising orderly disposal of food waste return of trays and dismissal from the cafeteria.
- Helps students develop proper eating habits in the areas of manners and nutrition.
- Notifies School Nurse and other administrative personnel of observed student behavior; raises concerns when necessary.
- Performs any other duties or responsibilities designated by the Cafeteria Manager.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
