Assistant Custodian - Enos/Wanless Elementary School en Springfield School District 186

HOURS: 2:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. – Enos

             8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. – Wanless

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to understand and follow verbal or written directions
2. Ability to communicate and maintain good working relationships with other employees and general staff of the assigned school
3. Ability to perform all job-related functions
4. Sufficient physical capabilities to perform all custodial assignments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds. Must pass pre-placement agility/fit for duty exam with MOHA

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sweep rooms, halls, entrances and sidewalks
2. Dust and move furniture
3. Wet mop and operate scrubbing/buffing machine
4. Vacuum and shampoo carpeting
5. Wash windows inside and outside
6. Clean restrooms, fixtures, walls and floors
7. Wash furniture, chalkboards, walls and floors
8. Replace light bulbs
9. Repair and replace window shades
10. Remove snow from sidewalks and apply de-icer
11. At direction of supervisor, assist in cleaning heating boilers inside and out
12. Perform general yard maintenance
13. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
14. Be constantly alert for unsafe conditions and report them immediately
15. BE SAFETY MINDED
16. Knowledge of building’s security alarm system and ability to follow instructions regarding same
17. Applicant must have a telephone number whereby he or she may be reached because of school emergencies
