About the Role:
As a Therapist at the Cookeville Regional Office, you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals and families through various mental health challenges by providing expert counseling and therapeutic interventions. Your work will focus on assessing client needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions to promote emotional well-being and behavioral health. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of support for clients experiencing crises, life transitions, or chronic mental health conditions. This position requires a compassionate and evidence-based approach to therapy, emphasizing client empowerment and resilience building. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to improving the quality of life for clients and fostering healthier communities within the region.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in individual and group therapy within a clinical or community health setting.
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, behavioral health, and psychotherapy techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to client confidentiality and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations including families and individuals facing complex life transitions.
- Certification or specialized training in anger management and trauma-informed care.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms.
- Additional credentials such as Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) or equivalent.
- Bilingual abilities or experience in culturally competent counseling practices.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to client needs.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based counseling techniques.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes.
- Facilitate anger management and life transition counseling to assist clients in developing coping skills.
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Stay current with developments in mental health counseling and psychotherapy to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
