ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Facilities and Logistics is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the museum facilities and for non-art related operations and logistics. Functions in the department include Buildings and Grounds, Carpentry, Painting, Engineering, Mail Center, and Warehouse Logistics and Fulfillment.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The position is responsible for the care of plant materials, snow removal and outside aesthetics of the Museum Campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect grounds and gardens and maintain standards.
- Perform garden maintenance including but not limited to, weeding, grass cutting, pressure washing, planting, cleaning and trash removal.
- Clean grounds, sidewalks, stairs and walkways.
- Snow removal and salt on sidewalks, stairs and walkways.
- Perform mixing or application of fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, or fungicides.
- Work to ensure standards are met.
- Complete inventory checks and equipment inspections.
- Comply and consistently to meet OSHA requirements.
- Follow established safety rules, regulations, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of safety training virtually or in person, including, but not limited to: Asbestos Awareness, Hazard Communications, Fire Safety/Extinguisher Use, Personal Protective Equipment,, Ladder and Aerial Lift, Back Injury Prevention and Hearing Conservation.
- Follow detailed instructions and communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to work in a diverse and inclusive atmosphere.
Physical Requirements
- Regular lifting and moving 80lbs without assistance.
- Long periods walking, squatting, and kneeling.
- Stretching and reaching overhead and below the waist.
- Climbing stairs, and ladders.
- Using/wearing Personal Protective Equipment as required including, but not limited to, respirators, protective footwear and eyewear.
