Position: Housing Support Supervisor
Report to: Housing Manager
Purpose of Position: Oversees the scheduling and supervision of the housing support after-hours team. Provides on-site support and assistance for residents and property operations at Summer Street Apartments permanent supportive housing program during evenings, weekends and holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Advocates for the mission of the organization and promotes and upholds the agency’s values, by delivering services with safety, respect and effectiveness.
· Follows all policies and procedures of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
o Weekly scheduling of housing support team for evenings, weekends and holidays and ensuring appropriate staff coverage during all after-hour shifts.
o Conduct regular supervision of program staff for coaching and development opportunities.
o Meet regularly with direct supervisor.
o Conduct job performance evaluations in a timely manner providing staff with feedback and opportunities for growth and development.
o Actively participate in/facilitate staff meetings and training opportunities.
o Actively participate in the Management team through regularly scheduled meetings and day-to-day activities.
o Ensure that the programs are always in compliance with state and federal laws.
o Be available and on call for emergencies at program site.
Resident Support:
o Promotes a safe, calm, and respectful environment, and serves as a professional point of contact to residents, by actively engaging them, using a client-centered and trauma informed approach.
o Responds and assesses emergency, safety and/or crisis situations, utilizing non-violent crisis intervention techniques and ensures a timely and respectful resolution in alignment with housing policies and procedures.
o Coordinate with on-call staff and/or emergency services.
o Interact with emergency personnel to facilitate services while protecting resident confidentiality in accordance with state and federal laws.
Operational Support:
o Respond, assess and triage maintenance/facility issues or safety concerns. Determine immediate course of action by following policies/procedures for level of urgency and resolution.
o Responds to resident apartment lockouts as well as other maintenance / facilities issues.
o Completes regular security checks inside and outside the facility in accordance with established protocols.
Requirements
Experience and Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in human services field OR
· Associate degree in human services field plus a minimum of 2 years' experience working with an at-risk population OR
· A minimum of 4 years' experience working with an at-risk population.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and establish rapport with populations that have experienced vulnerability, trauma, economic poverty, incarceration, substance use, develop-mental delays, compromised mental wellness, brain injuries, literacy and numeracy issues, and other conditions or situations that have impacted housing stability
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure, be flexible and be able to multi-task.
· An understanding of client-centered, strengths-based service delivery, harm reduction and trauma-informed care.
· Possess the ability to work independently with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative, and as part of a team.
· Capacity and experience to manage a program and lead a team with the ability to develop goals and objectives and be able to
identify and address problems related to personnel management.
· Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments and prepare clear and concise reports and correspondence.
· Have sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional boundaries
· Must successfully complete Safety Care training
· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and navigating software/programs such as Realpage property management.
