About the role

An exciting opportunity, to play an essential role in supporting the placemaking in London’s largest borough.  With a focus on the priority town centre and major growth areas including Colindale, Edgware, North Finchley and Burnt Oak, reporting to the Strategic Placemaking Lead, the role will support the delivery of workstreams derived from the council’s new Placemaking Framework which underpins the council plans for great placemaking.  The role will involve supporting the creation and fostering of effective partnerships with internal and external public and private partners to deliver social and community infrastructure and assisting in setting the vision, financing and delivery of future growth in Barnet. 

The post holder will be required to work collaboratively across council services and in a multi‐agency environment with a range of internal and external partners to achieve wider integrated outcomes for residents of Barnet.

About you
  • 1+ years experience of working on placemaking and regeneration projects
  • Experience working with a diverse range of community groups and organisations to deliver complex projects. 
  • Experience of supporting best-practice project management 
  • Strong stakeholder and partnership support ideally within a multi-agency, public and private sector environment, with ability to manage support, manage time and competing tasks within workload.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbally, to a range of audiences both internal and external to the council. 
  • Knowledge of finance processes such as raising purchase orders, paying invoices and other related works.
