Job Summary:
This position provides spiritual support and host engagement across Silver Dollar City Parks and Resorts. The role develops and leads non-denominational worship services, offers pastoral care and encouragement to hosts, and supports Human Resources initiatives to enhance the guest and host experience. Serving as a bridge between spiritual care and workplace support, this position models servant leadership and Heartspitality by demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality in all interactions.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to assist the Human Resources team.

  • Provide spiritual support through daily interactions with guests and hosts at all Silver Dollar City Parks and Resorts properties.
  • Develop, lead, and implement non-denominational Sunday church services for guests and hosts in the Wilderness Church during the operating season including special event services.
  • Communicate with hosts through a regularly scheduled column in the What’s Happening newsletter.
  • Minister to hosts in need of comfort due to illness or passing of loved ones through outreach which may include hospital visits and funeral visitations and services.
  • Provide encouragement to hosts with life and spiritual issues as able, and act as a bridge to care by referring to professional counselors or other professional assistance as needed or required.
  • Teach New Hire Orientation class (Welcome University) for new hosts.
  • Provide support for HR functions, with an emphasis on host engagement.
  • Follow up with all newly hired frontline hosts at predetermined intervals to see how they are acclimating to their position.

  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent.
  • Language Ability: Able to speak, read and write English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as desk procedures and policy manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of hosts and guests.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Education and Experience:

  • Must be an ordained minister recognized by the state of Missouri.
  • College degree in Biblical studies from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years ministerial experience required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in a secular workplace environment required.

  • Must occasionally be able to lift up to 40 pounds, average weight of 15 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt, concrete.
  • Must be able to tolerate a year-round outdoor environment; cold and hot temperatures.
  • Ability to withstand heights, climb stairs, climb ladders, walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to drive on surface streets and operate equipment on unpaved surfaces.
  • Ability to remember locations, understand and carry instructions.

Work Environment:
This role is performed in a variety of settings across Silver Dollar City Parks and Resorts properties, including indoor offices, outdoor venues, and guest-facing areas such as the Wilderness Church. Work may occur in both quiet, private spaces and highly active public environments. The position involves frequent interaction with guests, hosts, and community members, requiring professionalism, confidentiality, and compassion at all times. Work may take place outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, snow, or humidity. Noise levels can range from quiet (office or private areas) to loud (guest areas or events). Work schedules may include weekends, evenings, and holidays to accommodate services, events, and host support needs.
